Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon Huerhuero Vineyard 2008 @vinarobles @winelibrary

We continue to be happy with the wines we drink from Paso Robles and this is no exception.  The 2nd of 12 from our Wine Library purchase, this $15.98 (list $24) is a great bottle with a WE 90pt rating to boot.  It’s a full bodied cab that is balanced with fruit throughout and a violet finish that tends to linger a bit.  We enjoyed this with a grilled flank steak and veggies…and our animal crackers for dessert as well.

Sharp’s Hill 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve Paso Robles: Great Deal in PA!

A couple weeks ago, I made an $18 investment in a great bottle of wine supplied via the chairman’s selection program in PA.  While I often disparage this program and the whole situation, sometimes it works out for us.  This Sharp’s Hill Vineyard cab is serious and shows why many feel that Paso Robles is the next “it” AVA in California for Cabernet Sauvignon.  This is a BIG cab and a steal for $18.

Inkling Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Paso Robles: Jammy and Smooth @PasoRoblesWine

We haven’t had many Cabs from Paso Robles, but if they all are anything like this Inkling, we’ll be enjoying many more.  This Inkling Cab is redolent of intense berry jam and smooth like vanilla.  Very low tannins and a really enjoyable wine that was balanced from end-to-end.  I’ll investigate some more Paso Robles wineries soon!
